Aqualani's executive team is comprised of talented and experienced management professionals. Each member has extensive knowledge and experience in their respective fields.
Mike Kelley, owner of Aqualani has more than 30 years of experience with luxury resort hotels, beach and pool service management, concierge and ocean recreation operations. Started in 2017, Aqualani is the largest pool and ocean recreation services company in Hawaii with over 18 resort locations and a diversified staff of over 240.
As he built the company into the organization it is today, Kelley also helped design the pool and beach facilities for nine major resort hotels throughout Hawaii. Working through pre-construction to opening he coordinated layout of facilities, service deliveries, area concepts, staffing and budget guidelines. In addition to resort pool, beach and concierge services Kelley has started other successful operations including Grand Luau at Honua'ula at the Grand Wailea, The Spa at Black Rock and Teralani Catamarans.
Kelley served for four years on the international board of Young President's Organization and chaired the international events committee for three of those years. He is also a past Maui County Small Business Person of the Year as designated and honored by the United States Small Business Association, twice selected as a finalist for Ernst & Hawaii Young Entrepreneur of the Year and was recognized for Retailer of the Year award from the Hawaii Retail Merchants Association.
Mike and his wife Olinda have 2 daughters.
David Weiss has over 25 years of executive level sales, marketing and operations experience in Hawaii. Prior to joining Aqualani, David spent 4 years in charge of Starwood Vacation Ownership sales and marketing operations on the Island of Oahu as a Project Director in Waikiki.
Previous to Starwood, David worked at the executive level for Embassy Vacation Resorts in Hawaii for 11 years holding several positions including Regional Vice President and Regional Director of Operations. David has executive level responsibilities for Aqualani, Five Star Scuba, Ka'anapali Surf Club, The Grand Luau at Honua’ula, Teralani Sailing Adventures and all watersports operations.
David has lived on Maui since 1980 and enjoys SUP surfing, downwind paddling and snowboarding. He and his wife Vanessa have been married for 36 years and together they have 3 grown boys.
Over the past 10 years Alexis held management positions in accounting for both privately held and publicly traded companies. Her experience ranges from Health Care to Electronics Manufacturing Services. Alexis received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California. After graduating, Alexis worked for Moss Adams LLP as part of the Assurance department.
As Controller, she has financial responsibilities for Aqualani, Five Star Scuba, Teralani Sailing Adventures, Spa at Black Rock, The Grand Luau at Honua’ula, Kaanapali Surf Club and Kauai Surf Partners.
Alexis was born and raised in Maui and has a 7 year old son.
Alex Vorobieff has over 16 years of financial management experience in a wide range of industries including hospitality, aerospace, real estate and health care. During the past ten years Alex has worked with a number of entrepreneurial companies and led the process of developing the infrastructure necessary to grow successfully.
Alex received his undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree with an Emphasis in Accounting from the University of Southern California and his Master in Business Administration from UCLA.
After receiving his undergraduate degree, Alex worked for Ernst & Young and received a certified public accountant license.
As Regional Director, Brett is responsible for overseeing all guest services at three Waikiki, Oahu beachfront locations and the company’s new Kauai location.
Prior to moving to Hawaii in 2013 Brett was in the music and radio promotions business in Santa Monica, California. He also was Executive Vice President at Hitmakers Magazine and Hot Sheet Publishing. His formal education is in communications and audio engineering and he studied at Pierce College and UCLA. In his spare time, Brett enjoys spending time with his wife Nancy and their daughters Lyla and Ava.
As Director of Watersports on Kauai and Maui, Lucas oversees both Ka'anapali Surf Club in Ka'anapali, Maui and Aqualani Watersports in Wailea, Maui and Poipu, Kauai. Lucas’s primary responsibility includes the implementation of watersports programs, hiring and training of all its instructors and staffing and general oversight of all watersports operations. Ka'anapali Surf Club and Aqualani Watersports combined is Hawaii’s largest watersports operation.
Lucas Teixeira has over 10 years of hotel water sports management experience. Lucas is originally from Rio de Janiero Brazil, and has been a Maui Resident for the past 14 years. He speaks 3 languages fluently, PADI open water certified, lifeguard certified, CPR and first AID. Lucas started surfing professionally at age 15. Lucas is married to his wife Stephanie and together they enjoy traveling and playing sports.
